As we strive to ensure that our students, faculty, and staff experience UK as a welcoming environment, we embrace the many aspects of diversity represented on campus and endeavor to be inclusive in the ways we live, learn, and work. This involves respecting the religious diversity on campus. Throughout the academic year, members of our community observe various official holy days of their respective religions.
Major religious holidays should be considered excused absences. Students must request an excused absence in advance of the holiday; instructors may specify in the course syllabus the length of time in advance or a date by which the request must be made.
