If a student wishes to appeal the instructor's determination, the student must contact the Academic Ombud within ten working days to schedule a meeting with the Ombud.
The Ombud will listen to the student's perspective and review the instructor's evidence with the student. If the student wishes to proceed with an appeal, the Ombud will discuss with the student the information needed from the student and how best to present the student's case to the University Appeals Board.
The Ombud will write a memo to the University Appeals Board summarizing the student's and the instructor's perspectives of the case.
- Please note: The student has the right, with some restrictions, to class participation and attendance during the consideration of any appeal.
