Appeal a Penalty of Zero on an Assignment or Failure in a Course

If a student receives a penalty of zero on the assignment or a failure in the course, the student should contact the Academic Ombud to begin the appeal process within ten (10) business days of receiving the letter from the instructor.

All Other Appeals

If a student is found responsible by a Hearing Panel, the student may appeal by filing a notice of appeal with he Academic Ombud within seven (7) business days of the decision determining the sanction. Appeals not filed in a timely manner will not be accepted or considered.  The notice must state:

  1.  the grounds of the appeal; and
  2. whether is the respondent is appealing the finding of responsibility, the sanction imposed, or both.
