The Administrative Regulations provide students attending the University of Kentucky certain rights.  Below are some of the highlights:

  1. A fair and just evaluation of each student’s performance in each course based on the standards defined in the course syllabus the student receives on the first day of class.
  2. Students may not be penalized for an excused absence.
  3. Students may view graded work within a reasonable amount of time.
  4. Course requirements limited during the last week of classes, known as Prep Week and Reading Days.
  5. No more than two final exams on the same day.
  6. Students may appeal an academic matter to the University Appeals Board, usually the grade awarded, if the student believes that their academic rights have been violated.
  7. A right to participate fully in University academics while an appeal is pending.  There are, however, some exceptions to this right.
