The Administrative Regulations provide students attending the University of Kentucky certain rights. Below are some of the highlights:
- A fair and just evaluation of each student’s performance in each course based on the standards defined in the course syllabus the student receives on the first day of class.
- Students may not be penalized for an excused absence.
- Students may view graded work within a reasonable amount of time.
- Course requirements limited during the last week of classes, known as Prep Week and Reading Days.
- No more than two final exams on the same day.
- Students may appeal an academic matter to the University Appeals Board, usually the grade awarded, if the student believes that their academic rights have been violated.
- A right to participate fully in University academics while an appeal is pending. There are, however, some exceptions to this right.
