After meeting with the student, determine if an academic offense was committed by the student.
Student did not commit an offense
If, after the meeting, it is determined the student did not commit an offense, notify the student within seven (7) business days after the meeting the student will not be charged with an offense. For SACSCOC compliance, please copy Ombud@uky.edu on this notification.
Student's action does not warrant the minimum penalty of zero on the assignment
If, after the meeting, it is determined the student's action is slight or inconsequential and warrants a penalty of less than a zero on the assignment, notify the student within seven (7) business days after the meeting the student will not be charged with an offense, but their action warrants a lower grade on the assignment for not following the assignment directions and/or course syllabus. Student committed an offense
